Wrestler Spotlight: Adrian Neville

The high voltage, high-flying, charismatic, young blood who has conquered NXT and is now ready to fly all over the main roster, when the time comes. Adrian Neville made a splash onto the WWE scene the minute he signed on and debuted on NXT. Seeing as this blog is mainly for WWE, I won’t be covering Adrian Neville’s illustrious career outside of the WWE.

The Beginnings

Neville debuted on NXT back on a January 16 2013 NXT TV Taping against former WWE wrestler, Sakamoto. Quick note about 2013 NXT, the WWE Network was not around yet. The network didn’t drop until February 2014. NXT at the time was being shown on Hulu Plus. Any who, Neville made a strong debut dazzling the NXT crowd with his Corkscrew Shooting Star Press otherwise known as the Red Arrow.

Why is NXT so F’N Cool?

Recently not to long ago I was watching a recent NXT taping through the WWE Network. As always it was quite the entertaining show. As I watched I began to think why is NXT putting out such a better product compared to the main roster WWE? Is it the difference in the duration of the show? Is it the stories being told? Is it the actual wrestling? Why is NXT so much cooler than the WWE when NXT is a creation of the WWE? Why isn’t the main roster WWE just as cool as NXT?

There is no other sport out there today where you would rather watch the “D-League” or the “Minors” compared to watching the big leagues. Why is WWE’s Development Program more entertaining than WWE’s main product. I’m going to cover a couple of differences in main show and NXT product to possibly find this answer.

Duration

Right now WWE’s main show, Monday night Raw runs a full 3 hours every Monday. 3 Hours of wrestling. It seems unrealistic for most wrestling companies, but a WWE can do it, but can they do it well. Currently the main Roster has 46 Active male wrestlers and 11 Active female wrestlers. Depending on time of matches and commercials, it should be easy to book 46 Guys and 11 women for matches in 3 hours. The issue comes in when you try to tell detailed stories involving 46 men and 11 women. Wrestlers will get left off just to keep stories fresh.

NXT Talent Ready for the Main Roster

As viewers may know I am a huge fan of everything NXT. From the production value, the story lines, to the actual in ring matches. I’m loving everything about NXT right now, and so is every other wrestling fan. However like NXT talent from the past, they will have to leave eventually. I want to cover some NXT talents who are ready for the main show.

Tyler Breeze

Prince Pretty in my opinion is in a rut down in Orlando. There isn’t much for him to do or anyone to feud with that would put him over. There may be something with him and Hideo, but I don’t see Tyler getting the advantage in that feud. It’s about time for Prince Pretty to come to the main show. He’s been on NXT before NXT got all of it’s popularity.

He is a heel everyone loves, and his in-ring skill are oh so dope. He could make a huge splash on Raw and Smackdown as the wrestler-model. The only thing that might hold him back is getting booked as a comedic act or simply put, his size. I know what you are thinking, it’s 2015 SIZE DOESN’T MATTER. Well it does.

NXT Takeover: Rival Predictinos

It’s about that time again. Time for the next NXT live special, the fifth one, NXT Takeover:Rival. It just seems not to long ago we saw Sami Zayn win the NXT Championship a while back. This special like the ones in the past have some interesting story-lines going on in the NXT Universe.

Baron Corbin Vs. Bull Dempsey (No-Disqualification Match)

Since the last NXT special, Corbin and Dempsey have been beating the hell out of each other. They have had official matches with Corbin taking both wins. Corbin is a guy I see as one of the next faces in the NXT title picture. He just took his first loss in the NXT Title Tournament to Adrian Neville due to a Dempsey interference. I see Corbin taking the win in an all out slugfest by these two.

Wrestler Spotlight: Dolph Ziggler

By far one of the most entertaining wrestlers in the business. Dolph has the look, the skills, and the charisma you want in a star.

Dolph Ziggler is one of the more underrated talents working with the WWE. He constantly puts on great matches. He is as over as one could be. One can only hope soon he will be in the title picture. What can’t you say about Ziggler.

The Spirit Squad

The Spirit Squad AKA WWE’s former resident Male Cheerleaders. Kenny, Johnny, Mitch, Nickey, and Mickey. At the time of their relevance the Spirit Squad feuded with the legendary DX, and worked with the boss, Vince McMahon. They even won the prestigious World Tag Team Championships. The Spirit Squad was an interesting team for WWE, but isn’t surprising knowing how WWE loves its characters.

WWE Royal Rumble 2015 Early Prediction

As many in the wrestling world know, the Royal Rumble is this Sunday! Rumble Season is alive and comes to an end this Sunday. The Royal Rumble is by far one of the bigger events in WWE’s PPV lineup. The main event of this event, for those who don’t know, is the 30 Man Over the Top Battle Royal with the winner receiving the opportunity to main event Wrestlemania for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

This show has made careers. We can look at guys like John Cena and Batista as guys who came out of the Royal Rumble victors, going on to win the championship at Wrestlemania. Last year Batista won it again to go on to the main event match at Wrestlemania last year. There are so many great candidates to be winner this year. I’m excited to see the match. Still in the show there are other matches.

New Day vs Cesaro, Tyson Kidd, and Adam Rose

If you read anything from me in the past, you already know my opinion about the New Day. It’s probably the worst creative move in recent memory. The WWE is trying to make this gimmick work, but it is just not. I love Big E, Kofi, and Xavier, but this team is nothing to me, at least for now. Still the way WWE has been booking them, expect New Day to somehow beat the team of Cesaro, Kidd, and Rose.

Cesaro and Kidd alone are one if not the most talented teams in the WWE today. Adam Rose has been booked as a comedy talent since main show debut. I miss old NXT Adam Rose when he was the dangerous South African, Leo Kruger, but that’s in the past now. I hope Cesaro and Kidd will get the push both of them so deserve soon.

WWE Monday Night Raw Reveiw: 1/19/2015

Raw Reunion, live from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. This was the Raw before the historic Royal Rumble PPV. I have to say this Raw is one of the better Raw episodes in recent memory. The WWE managed to make the full 3 hours work from top to bottom. The show started off huge with the WWE World Heavyweight Champ, Brock Lesnar, and Paul Heyman, making their way out to the ring to open the show. The crowd went crazy for this. I don’t blame them, Brock Lesnar showing up on Monday Night Raw is rare anyway so I would have been marking out with them.

If you remember last week on Raw, Brock got a huge “Curb Stomp” by Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins. The results of this attack on Brock left the champ not so pleased.

Brock came out simply to call out Seth Rollins for his actions last week. Seth doesn’t come out. I don’t blame him, Brock is kinda scary looking, plus that German Suplex looks like no types of fun. Instead the COO Triple H comes out to try to calm the champ down. Brock isn’t trying to hear anything H is saying. HHH’s wife, the Principal owner of the WWE, Stephanie McMahon comes out with Kane and Big Show to try to calm Brock. She fails at it having Kane and Big Show make Brock get defensive. Seth Rollins finally appears on the titan-tron only to get shunned by Paul Heyman. As Heyman is speaking, John Cena comes out.

After countless back and forth between Cena, Rollins,Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon. Cena agrees to a main event match that night that where if he wins, Dolph Zigger, Erick Rowan, and Ryback get their jobs back. However if Cena loses his match, he forfeits his Royal Rumble title match. Triple H leaves it up to the WWE Universe to decide if Cena gets this opportunity tonight.

The Future stars of tomorrow down on NXT put on a fun amazing show for their official Wednesday debut. The show began strong with a dream match in some eyes featuring Tyson Kidd Vs. Finn Balor.

Tyson Kidd Vs. Finn Balor

This match had great back and forth action. Since appearing on NXT to face off against Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn, and others, Tyson Kidd has turned his WWE career in a complete 360. He has been the gem NXT needed to compete against the next new and veteran talents in NXT. Also due to the success he has had on NXT, it seems he is receiving a tag team push with Cesaro on the main show. Kidd didn’t disappoint in an exciting match with Balor.
